Side Effects

Most vaccinations are tolerated very well. There may be a little pain and swelling at the site of the needle stick for a few hours which is usually relieved by pain or fever medication or a warm compress at the injection site. During the doctor's office visit consultation, a review of your health status and medications is completed before any shots are given. It is not very wise to get shots without consulting a doctor and having a doctor present in case there is a reaction. There could be interaction with medications you are taking. This information also applies to flu shots.
